Red chili is a spicy and hot chili with attractive red. When the chili is matured, it directs to the sky, so Vietnamese growers usually call it “sky-pointed” chili. The colors of “sky-pointed” chili are dark green and hot red. It has a cylinder shape. The fruits’ diameter is usually in between 0.5 cm to 1.0 cm. The length is approx. 8 -10 cm. The skin is shining and smooth. The fruit meet is medium thick. Red chili is defending pests and diseases well; self-life is usually longer than other chili species. Rate of rotten fruits after harvesting is low, so it is suitable for export.
In Vietnam, the red chili is grown a lot in Cuu Long Delta and some other Northern provinces. Chili crops are usually 3 crops per year or grow alternately with rice.
